The first quarter of 2024 saw notable trends in the performance of the top 5 communication apps on Android in Lebanon. Here's a closer look at the weekly downloads, active users, and revenue for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Messenger experienced a significant increase in weekly downloads. Starting at 18.3K in the first week of January, downloads peaked at 32.2K in mid-February and stabilized around 28.9K by the end of March. Active users showed a steady rise from 2.4M to 2.6M throughout the quarter.

WhatsApp Business also saw growth in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads began at 10.6K, spiked to 21.9K by late February, and then settled at 15.9K in the last week of March. Active users increased from 815K to 876K over the quarter.

Messenger had a more stable performance in Lebanon. Downloads fluctuated, starting at 17.2K, dipping to 12.3K in early February, and rising again to 21.3K by the end of March. Active users remained relatively steady, hovering around 1.08M.

Snapchat displayed a mixed performance. Weekly downloads started strong at 16.3K but dropped to 9.7K by mid-March, before recovering slightly to 12.8K by the end of the quarter. Active users saw a slight decrease from 1.11M to 1.05M throughout the period.

Telegram showed consistent download numbers, starting at 12.1K and maintaining around 12.4K by the end of March. Active users, however, saw a decline from 615K to 594K over the quarter. Revenue for Telegram varied, with a peak of $89 in the first week of January and fluctuations throughout the quarter.
